After a few years away, Roma Kizomba Festival returns in 2027.
The last big edition came just before 2020, when the pandemic interrupted a festival that, over the years, had brought dancers, artists and fans from more than twenty countries to Rome.
But the world did not stand still.Kizomba did not stand still.
Music, dance, people, communities and a new generation kept moving, meeting and changing.
So we don't want to restart where we left off. We want to carry on from where we are today.
A bridge doesn't belong only to its two banks. A bridge is where people meet.
That's why the bridge is the symbol of this edition.
A bridge between
Everyone will find something of their own in the bridge.
From the very start, Kizomba itself has been about meeting, travelling, changing and connecting.
Roma Kizomba Festival 2027 sets out to represent the different souls of the Kizomba world without setting them against each other.
Roots • Angola • Culture
Kizomba, Semba, Tarraxinha, Afro House, music, culture, history, social life, and the Angolan way of living the dance that started this whole movement.
The artists, masters and leading figures who carry this heritage and pass it on will have a central place.
Kizomba Fusion • Urban • Evolution
Urban Kiz, fusions, musical crossovers and new styles born where Kizomba meets other cultures, other bodies and other generations.
Protecting a root doesn't mean stopping the tree from growing.
Tradition and evolution don't have to fight. They can meet on the same bridge.
So RKF 2027 will unveil, step by step, two major artistic paths, each with its own artists and programme, within the same festival.

For thousands of years this city has connected peoples, cultures, languages and worlds.
Roma Kizomba Festival wants to be that again:

Those coming from abroad won't only discover Kizomba. They'll discover Rome.
Those coming from other parts of Italy will meet people, schools and communities from across the country.
And what starts here can travel on to Europe and the rest of the world.
That will be our first big goal.
North, Centre, South and the islands. Schools, teachers, DJs, organisers, long-time dancers and a new generation.
From there, step by step, we'll widen the bridge again.
Roma Kizomba Festival has always been more than a string of workshops and parties. Over the years it has also meant training, culture, meetings, conferences, teacher development, presentations, dialogue and community.
The Bridge Edition builds on that. Dance stays at the heart of it: the days will be full of classes, music, socials, parties, meetings and big shared moments.
Around the dance we'll keep creating chances to learn, meet, talk, grow and build new relationships.
A festival can last a few days.A relationship can last many years.
